This year China was represented at the conference
for the first time.
Staff and students of La Salle DHU International Design College,
Shanghai graphic design and multimedia departments were fortunate
enough to be invited to participate in the conference by Rae during
a
visit in early 2002. The 14 strong group made the journey to Bremen
where representatives presented onstage in to an audience of design
students, academics and industry representatives from around
the world.
Rae was enthusiastic in his response to the group’s work. He
said
after the conference that the presentation,”was really uplifting
and
will sit in the hearts of our 1000+ strong audience for a long time…
it was immaculate and beautifully constructed. I watched every
second of it with the added nostalgia of my visit [to Shanghai]...”xplore
what we do as designers, why we do it and what the effect is.”
