Profile Intermedia 5 featured a diverse array
of presentation from
23 individuals, collectives, organizations, colleges and businesses
selected from the global visual communications industry. They spoke
around an equally diverse range of topics relating to the theme
in
some way or other. There were additional workshops and other events
all homing in on the central question: What do we do? Why we do
it?
What is the affect?
Relationships between client-designer-audience;
society and artist;
moving-image and printed media; physical fingers and digital media;
hands and machines; 2-dimensions-3-dimensions-4 dimensions;
old ways and new expressions; youth and wisdom were explored in
approaches that ranges from the seriously academic to the playful
and intuitive.
