Chinese design students impress at German conference.

 Profile Intermedia, the annual international conference on the
crossover in design, art, architecture, film, video, photography,
digital media, sonic arts, visual effects, music and performance was
held in Bremen, Germany on the 6, 7 and 8 December 2002
.This year’s event was designed to showcase the work of both
established design figures such as Dr. Dieter Rams, director of
product design at Braun Electronics [1968 – 1977], and Ron Arad,
influential “superstar” product designer as well as up and coming
innovators such as U.S. based designers We Work For Them,
Brand New School and Imaginary Forces.

The theme of the conference was Kontrast, and in the words of
conference director Peter Rae the speakers were invited to, “explore
what we do as designers, why we do it and what the effect is.”
