21/5/2006...See Itold you I'd post more regularly :D...This is a little old in terms of date posted [2004] but is a nice clip showcasing the real deal hip hop scene in Shanghai. I think Pageflakes looks like a promisiing tool...not much to say about it 'cept try it yourself. Omnium has a new collaborative global design community up and running and I've become a part of it. If you are a design orientated person you may want to become involved too...Guess I'll be posting Sydney-based info now weare based here...Went to an exhibition at Pelt recently...if you like sound based art Pelt is for you...Birds& Fish is stil evolving and we have our most recent newsletter here...

20/5/2006...mashed! Wow it has taken me a long time to get this together...a rather long story to go with it...it includes another relocation - this time to Sydney...anyway aiffhead is back and planning a big site revamp using .css...

26/1/2006...It's a little slow coming but I have had a lot of technology "issues" of late...Choncey Langford the LA based producer has featured aiffhead beats on the track Mashup from his recent album The Enthusiast out on Woodson Lateral. Choncey continually has his eyes and ears open to art and music of the past and present, locally and globally, and his omnivorous approach often yields rare and satisfying blends of influences and elements. Also an accomplished painter, his work has been featured in a number of solo and group shows in Seattle and LA.

18/11/2005...Audio Avante Avante the French Canadian group, have released a 3" CD by aiffhead called "Cities" the cd is available at record stores in Montreal, Ottawa, Paris and Berlin with the possibility of a few more stores being added in the
future.  The price for each cd is around 2$ - 2.50$ CDN. You can purchase the CD online here...

30/8/2005...I thought that a few words of background hype ;) might well acompany the three new aiffhead trax. Essentially the work has come out of recent sessions of recordings/composition that contemplate the current era. The soundbites are obvious in their source and clearly place the music as immediately contemporary. As I mentioned below, I sense, not a nostalgia about the work, but a reference to earlier inspirations and past experiments in sound.

30/8/2005...See the latest addition to aiffhead systems growing content below at Simplicty2. With 6 issues a year the newsletter features a range of B&F projects that fit a selected theme for the issue. Recently we have been profiling individual members of our team. back issues can be seen here...

29/8/2005...ok just quick one - but a good one...Check out Dan Hill out of London, and his excellent blog City of Sound - one for all the designers out there.

29/8/2005...Upgraded content complete for the moment. See links [far right] to projects Ihave been putting time into lately here and here...they aren't music related -but hey! I gotta make my way in the world. Hey, shouts out to Peter Uertz in Germany. 27/8/2005...Time is flying... wow... two months since my last blog here. That means 2 months since the last new aiffhead material was posted as well. this post heralds the release to no less than THREE new scapes for your listening pleasure. I've recently noticed a hitherto unconsidered [at least for many many years] Ralf/Tuxedomoon influence in my recent compositions. maybe it is that i am playing with new sources of sound creation. When i say this I am referring specifically to myself. I am not using anthing that is new or revolutionary, but I do still ahere stricktly to an approach of severe minimalism in terms of composition and also technology. to me this is still entirely relevant in the context of contemporary composition, digtale musiqs, field recording etc...

28/6/05...Whereas this blog is clearly a personal selection of links that relate to my interests in design and music and culture and the like, I have now launched, and will commmence promoting a blog derived from my series of design related articles with Joy Yin called Eye 2 Eye...check it out for more in depth discussion on design practice in the contemporary context we find ourselves in...feel free to make contributions and comments. If you want to become part of a blog team contact me to discuss it...

22/6/05...WOW long time no blog...things have got away from me as those of you who really know me will understand ...Young Felix has well and truly taken centre stage these past 5 months or so...but things are definitely refocussing and i/we are hoping for new adventures to emerge out of the fog of frustration of the past year...are we outta here? We can only hope...Mumbai? Whoa - and maybe!

On the Birds & Fish front things have been perculating away very well indeed albeit without too much involvement from myself unfortunately. Still - there are only so many hours in a day/week/month and sometimes you have to re-prioritize. I did that :)

Looking around for some new links to post I saw this one on Ni Hao Paul and it sounds Kool...also still listening to Resonance which is endlessly interesting if you are an audiophile...Into Electro? then Si Clone is for you...download this link and grooveout to his new Sprocketmix...Here's the instructions..."you can single click to stream (if you have quicktime installed) or right click and 'save target as' (on pc) to download. it's approx 74mb, and is encoded at 192kbps"...Also online chatting to Shanghai rapper MASTALOOP this week uncovered this page with the usual hip hop including a Mastaloop trak...enjoy!

OK also into cfh127 these days - a nice dialogue about design and innovation for all you interlecktuals out there ;) no really check it ouot if that's your bag...and if you are iinto that and haven't come across Nathan Shedroff - check this as well...especially if you are designing sites. And finally - although it's a it nerdy this is a viable alternative to Google ...Vivisimo! A nice plug :) ciao and hopefully not for long!
